Bonnets and Bows Themed Birthday Party

Our precious Caroline Carlisle turned ONE on November 5th.
I can't believe she has only been with us a year!
The moment I had her my thoughts were,
"You are the missing piece I didn't know we were missing"!
CC is peaceful, sweet, a climber and the girliest little thing I've ever met!

For her party I chose to go with a Bonnets and Bows theme!
I wanted to use light pink and white all around the room and keep it sweet and girly!
We held the party at Stonebriar Country Club in the Briar Room overlooking the
 gorgeous golf course!

Every party I throw I always do a fun dessert table! For CC's first birthday I couldn't decide on one cake so I did five small cakes and a smash cake! I thought it would be fun to have different flavors!
The monogram backdrop is from Caroline Carlisle's room!

I knew I needed a bonnet cake, a hat box with a bow, a monogram cake!
The lace cake and the macaroon cake are also fun add on's to the dessert table!

I chose a sweet ONE banner with floral detail that gave it that little extra touch!
As for the high chair, I searched high and low for a matching wooden one like Eli's and my Nana saved the day finding this one at an estate sale! I painted it this sweet pink color to match the party!

To really make the room feel done up we added these sweet pink chair covers!

Each place setting had a 'Thank You' note and a cookie for the favor!

For center pieces we chose to use the mirrors and votive candles from the club and brought in flowers from the Patina + Peonies Flower shop, which I own!
I also added one of Caroline Carlisle's one year photos to each table!

For the sign in table I brought Caroline Carlisle's baby portrait from home, her baby book, her mother goose and Beaufort Bonnet company duck which is named Carlisle Quack Quack!!!!
We started a tradition years back to use a book as the sign in and this year we chose
"The Piggy Wears Prada"!

Her sweet About Me Sign :)

For the banners we chose a 'Happy Birthday Caroline Carlisle' + a photo banner hanging from the table and a fun balloon swag!!!
The sweet entry!

One thing I knew I wanted was a fun Milk Bar! We had sweet custom cups and napkins made with her bow monogram!

As for food, we had the country club do a big full breakfast with eggs benedict, bacon, fruit, bagels, croissants and muffins galore!

For entertainment we had the club move the grand piano into the ballroom and had a sweet friend play some tunes for the first hour! We also hired a princess to come entertain the kids {mind you the princess was SO late they refunded us the entire payment! Lol!}

CC took her very first steps at her party and took off walking within the week!!!!

The Cake Smash was by far the BEST part!
Ceec dove right in and even had to take take a break!
She laid her sweet little head down on the cake! Hahaha!
A girl after my own heart!!!

Texas State Fair

Oh how our family adores the Texas State Fair!
What's not to love? The rides, the animals, the fried food and Texas pride
It holds a piece of our hearts- so much so that we are having a
Texas State Fair Themed birthday party for my big boy turning FOUR!!!
Here is a peek back at the past five years opening morning at the fair!

2012:
This was my first time to go on opening morning!
We went to celebrate one of my very best friends, Lauren Logan's birthday!
That was the moment I realized it was clean, less crowded and discounted on the opening day!!
I'm pretty sure I called in work sick which was a big deal for me! Haha!
I used to never miss work!
Eli was in the womb and this was before Big Tex burned down
(and apparently before good cell phone pic's! Ha!)

Pregnant with Eli!
Turkey Leg and Corn- Fair staples!

2013:
This year I invited some other mama's to come along for opening morning and we had a blast!
It was Eli's first time at the fair! He was only 5 months old and I remember it being super hot and having to find places to breast him in air conditioning! The life of a mom!!

 2014:
This was the first year we dragged the husbands along even though they all have to take a day off of work! This was Eli's second trip to the fair and his first time to really experience the fun!

2015:
I was ten thousand years pregnant with Caroline Carlisle this year which means I got to indulge in just about anything my little heart desired!
I remember Eli LOVING the little farm and the animals so much!

2016:
This has to be one of my favorite years!
Eli really got to enjoy the rides and the games!
CC had a blast and munched on corn like no ones business!
