Good or God?

Recently I have noticed my life is filled with so much busyness day to day that I’m not focusing on the God given call on my life. So I started a list in my phone- is this a “good thing” or a “God thing”. There are so many GOOD things that we fill our days with. I’m in a season with 3 small kids and the good things have me running around without focus sprinkling a little of myself in a million places. I want to embrace the next few months focusing on the “God things” in my life. I want to authentically live MY call and do the work that only I can do for my life! So my “NO” in the upcoming month may ring more loud than my “yes”. I have to clear the space for my yeses to have time to thrive and be completed.

Proverbs 19:21 says, “Many are the plans of a persons heart, but the  Lords purpose prevails”.At the end of my life, I want to be able to be able to account for all the Lord placed on my life. That I walked it out and fulfilled His specific purpose for me.

What is Gods purpose for YOUR life? Are you called to steward your family at home? To write a book? To show up to your workplace and shine for Jesus? To write a sermon? Start a blog? Go into the mission field? Serve at your kids school? Love on the elderly at the local nursing home? Forgive that person who hurt you and show back up in their life? Start a business? Give Gods finances generously?

So start the list- what are GOOD things in your life? And what are the GOD things in your life?

His call is specific for YOU! Not everyone will understand your calling- it’s not a conference call. But I encourage us to slow the busyness and lean into the call on our lives. To stay focused on Jesus and His purpose.

The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me; your steadfast love, O Lord, endures forever. Do not forsake the work of your hands.

Proverbs 16:4 ESV

Holy Spirit I pray you remind each of the children what YOU have placed on their life that only they can fulfill. Give them God sized dreams and help us walk them out in obedience to you!
